Disclaimer & Care Terms
Concept draft ยท Jaipur, Rajasthan, India
1. Nature of the service
Pawcation (a concept by a Jaipur family) intends to offer in-home dog boarding where one dog is hosted at a time as a guest in the family home. It is a home environment, not a licensed kennel, veterinary clinic or medical facility. We aim to provide loving, attentive, hygienic care โ but we cannot guarantee outcomes, and dogs, like people, can fall ill or get hurt despite the best care.
2. Health, vaccination & fitness
By booking, the owner confirms that, to the best of their knowledge, their dog:
- is in good general health and fit to board;
- is up to date on all core vaccinations (and can show proof), including anti-rabies;
- is treated for fleas, ticks and worms;
- has no untreated contagious illness;
- and that the owner has honestly disclosed any medical conditions, allergies, medication needs, and any history of biting, aggression or anxiety.
We reserve the right to decline or end a stay if a dog appears unwell, unvaccinated, or unsafe to others.
3. Veterinary care & emergencies
If a dog appears unwell or injured during a stay, the owner authorises Pawcation to seek veterinary attention on the dog's behalf. We will always try to contact the owner (and their nominated emergency contact) first, but may act on the advice of a veterinarian without delay where a dog's welfare requires it. All veterinary, medication and transport costs arising during a stay are the owner's responsibility. Owners are strongly encouraged to leave their own vet's details and an emergency contact.
4. Assumption of risk & limitation of liability
Caring for animals carries inherent risks โ including illness, injury, escape, allergic reaction, or in rare cases death โ that can occur even with diligent, loving care. By entrusting a dog to Pawcation, the owner acknowledges and accepts these inherent risks.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, and except in the case of gross negligence or wilful misconduct, Pawcation and the family members providing care shall not be liable for illness, injury, loss, escape or death of a boarded dog, nor for any indirect or consequential loss. Any liability, where it does apply, is intended to be limited to the value of the fees paid for the stay in question. (The exact wording and enforceability of this clause must be confirmed by a lawyer.)
5. Behaviour, safety & the rights of others
The owner is responsible for any damage, injury or loss caused by their dog to people, other animals, or property during a stay. Owners must disclose any history of aggression or biting. If a dog poses a risk to the household or others, Pawcation may end the stay early and ask the owner (or their emergency contact) to collect the dog.
6. Owner responsibilities
- Provide accurate, complete information about the dog's health, diet, routine and temperament.
- Supply enough food, medication and any comfort items for the full stay, where requested.
- Provide proof of vaccination and a reachable phone number and emergency contact.
- Collect the dog on time, and remain reachable throughout the stay.
7. Photos & updates
We love sharing daily photos and videos with owners. Unless the owner asks us not to, we may also use photos/videos of their dog (never identifying the owner's home address or personal details) on our website and social media. Owners can opt out at any time.
8. Bookings, payments & cancellations
Booking, deposit, payment and cancellation terms will be set out at the time of a real booking. A Meet & Greet (and, where suitable, a trial day) is required before a first overnight stay so that both the dog and the family are comfortable.
9. Personal belongings
Beds, toys, leashes and other items are left at the owner's risk; we will take reasonable care of them but cannot accept liability for normal wear, loss or damage.
10. Governing law
These terms are intended to be governed by the laws of India, with the courts of Jaipur, Rajasthan having jurisdiction. (To be confirmed by a lawyer.)
This document is a concept-stage template provided for illustration only. It is not legal advice and creates no contract. It must be reviewed by a qualified legal professional, and supported by appropriate insurance and a signed boarding agreement, before any real service is offered.
